Plaintiff, Carolyn Otis, brings this action to recover the proceeds of an insurance policy for fire damage to her home. The suit originated with the mortgagee, Leader Federal Savings and Loan Association, bringing action against Otis and her insurer, Cambridge Mutual Fire Insurance Company, to recover costs incident to the repair of the burned residence. Before trial, Leader Federal settled their claim against Cambridge and entered a voluntary non-suit as to Ms. Otis. The action then continued upon the cross-complaint filed by Carolyn Otis against Cambridge Mutual.
